Two important changes ahead: new bank details and mandatory 2FA

Two changes are taking effect in the coming weeks that require your attention. From 1 May, the Dutch Tax Authority is switching to a new bank. From 1 July, Nmbrs is making two-factor authentication mandatory for all users. Both changes are straightforward, but they do require timely action to avoid disruptions. Here is a brief overview of what is happening — and what you need to do.

Dutch Tax Authority switching from ING to Rabobank

The Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst) and the Benefits Agency (Dienst Toeslagen) are moving from ING to Rabobank. This means all account numbers for tax payments will change — for payroll taxes, VAT, corporate income tax, personal income tax, dividend tax and benefits alike. The most commonly used new IBAN is NL04 RABO 0200 1122 44 (BIC: RABONL2U).

We will update the account numbers in your administration. However, if you have Tax Authority account numbers saved in your online banking address book, standing orders or automated payment files, you will need to update those yourself. Payments via iDEAL and direct debit are handled automatically. There is a grace period for payments made to the old ING number, but we recommend updating as soon as possible.

Two-factor authentication mandatory in Nmbrs

From 1 July 2026, two-factor authentication (2FA) will be mandatory for everyone who logs in to Nmbrs — including employees who access their payslips. The current Nmbrs 2FA solution is being replaced by Visma Connect, which offers more verification options such as an authenticator app, SMS and Face ID.

If you already use 2FA via Nmbrs, you will need to set it up again through Visma Connect. If you have not yet activated 2FA, you will be guided through the setup process automatically when you log in. Make sure to inform your employees as well — the requirement applies to them too.
